Teacher - Web Security

“I am a fifth grade teacher and I also like to make websites. I created a Joomla site for my class where the students can make a profile, play educational games, and help each other on homework and projects. Using the site I can track grades, attendance, and assignments. The school’s computer system had a good virus scanner, but I didn’t see a need to protect our website from hackers. About a month later I got on the site to see that it had been defaced. That is too mild a word, really.  The icons for our games had all been changed to pornographic images and our admin had been compromised, giving the hackers access to everything in my records, including the children’s home addresses. I have never been so mortified.

I immediately took the site offline and began searching for website hacker protection. I called SecureLive and explained my situation. Joe on the tech support team got right on fixing the issues, scanning the whole site and restoring the hacks. He had the site up and running, with SecureLive installed, the very next day. I cannot thank SecureLive enough for helping me clean up the dirty images on my site and protecting my students from this ever happening again. It is not possible to have a website and keep my students safe without SecureLive. Thank you so much!”
